Sunday Funnies – Medical Care

Medical care in the US is so ridiculously expense.  But then, if you have insurance or Medicare, the insurer reduces the billed rate to something much smaller, which the medical provider accepts and you and I are left with some sort of co-pay.  This remainder can still be quite expensive by the standards of medical care in other countries.  Here is a Pinterest post that illustrates the problem.

I have heard about the “medical vacation” that combines some sort of medical procedure with a nice trip to a foreign country.  Recuperating in a 5-star European or Asian hotel is much cheaper than in a US hospital, even with a visiting nurse thrown into the bargain.
