CISSP Certification Hybrid Class

It has been my great pleasure working with Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) and the Mayo Clinic information security group since 2019 presenting a CISSP certification class.  For the first time RCTC is offering this class to the general public.  If part of your professional development plan is achieving the CISSP certification, you should take a look at this course.

As opposed to 5 or 6 day boot camp style training, this course is presented over 16 weeks.  This allows the student to take most of the class on their own time, at their own speed, allowing them to for work and family life..  The training includes 10 video training sessions, combined with 16 live online review sessions with your instructor, Bob Weiss.    Text books are a separate purchase, which allows students to use the recommended text, or another of their own choosing.  More details follow .  Download the class flyer here.  Hybrid-Virtual-CISSP Flyer Spring 2022

Hi Bob, I’m interested in taking the CISSP course at RCTC. Can you tell me the pass rate for the exam for your students, and how many of them work in Cybersecurity now, but did;t before they took the class? Thank you.

The pass rate on the first exam attempt is about 90%, but I don’t have exact numbers. Kristi Kiehne is the course administrator at RCTC, and I am referring your question to her.

The CISSP is a managerial level certification and it assumes the student has at least 5 years of experience in information security. Nevertheless, many students in CISSP classes I have taught at RCTC and other have participants with less experience pass the exam.
